I've had a pelican bite my line in half while I was reeling him in.
The two times I was down there ( june and late august) I never seen any pelicans on the pier. Is this always been a problem?
It is a shame that pellicans are dying ,but the park officials have got to do something about them , I remember when sam was the only one now they are everywhere making a mess on the deck , the rails, the acid from them will destroy the roofs they set on,and its like a septic pool watching so many of them in the water crapping with people trying to swim, not to mention all the problems they are causing the fisherman ,,remember not all fisherman have the means to bring one up on the pier to take hooks out of them ,and its like trying to walk thru a mind field getting your bait in the water away from them .The true enemy are the people that think its cute to feeed them so they can get pictures of them doing that ,and all they are doing is making them dependant on people feeding them so when you see a dead pellican dont blame the fisherman ,blame the ones that have fed them and created this problem.Awe I feel better now

Here's the story.
they never mentioned that feeding them is illegal and even showed them being fed.
Don't forget, the media also acts like the current admenstruation is doing a good job of running our country!
A not so subtle shot at the fishermen.
Well, ya know folks are often judged by the company they keep. http://www.mbkfa.com/phpBB/images/sm...n_rolleyes.gif
I get just as pizzed as the next guy at those goofy lookin fifteen pound flyin crap factories, but will do my darndest to release one with as little harm as possible if there is an encounter.
And IF I see someone abusing them, 'Johnny Law' is gonna hear about it!
It unnerves me how bold the pelicans and blue herons (on shore) have become about approaching (and even stalking) humans because so many are being routinely fed by these stupid people!
