Albeit a man made catroshpy, the fishing where the westerly flow drains back to the gulf is phenomal at low tide. About 200 yards west of the pass mouth is one heck of a fishing hole.
I would suggest a short wire leader as large packs of ravenous blues tend to gather about 2 hours before low tide.....just sayin'Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.

To supposedly fix his drainage my neighbor had the city dig out in front of my house making an ditch that cannot be mowed and no longer allows parking because of the angle. Did not fix his drainage. I know the squeaking wheel always wins but why do upstream owners always get cared for first? In this example lagoon is upstream of littoral drift towards beaches to the west.

Thanks for posting, this article shows the quandary that the State is in because of the lawsuit and court order.
They are forced to try to keep open a pass that doesn't want to naturally stay open in a system that naturally fluctuated having a pass and not having one and between almost completely fresh to hyper-saline depending on the season, rainfall and groundwater inputs.
All while balancing impacts to down-drift property owners who will sue if they don't maintain the long-shore sediment transport.
What's the real solution?
Remove all the structures and let the pass naturally close up?
Spend more money on a different jetty configuration that may or may not really work?
Just live with it and keep dredging & by-passing?
