Our policy is that fish remains are to be thrown in a trash can. I'm sorry that you were told to take it with you, That is not and has never been the policy of Gulf State Park Pier. This issue has been corrected.

I think there are going to be some discrepancies between what he said and what the boys in blue are gonna say still. It would be nice to find out.

[size=12pt] I doubt seriously that the fish disposal dilemma is anywhere close to being resolved. We need way more than a post here, after all, this forum is not affiliated with the state or the parks dept.
I won’t be cleaning fish on the pier again till I see an official sign or document stating:
1. It is OK to clean your catch.
2. How to legally dispose of the remains,
3. You won’t get a ticket for leaving the pier with only filets and no proof of size and species.

I wonder if they have any idea how many fish remains will be going into garbage cans on a good day?

We have been told that we can now put the fish carcasses in the garbage can.All of us know that this is going to cause a big smelly problem as we go into the summer.More importantly the law has not changed;and now we have a Catch 22, if we us the garbage cans .How do we want to change the law ;and what do we want it to say? In the Advisory Board meeting they are going to want to know.

Why not inform the Advisory Board that the cleaning tables are more than 500 feet from the shoreline and by definition should exempt the pier at allow throwing carcasses overboard. :-\
