Re: 2012 "To do list"
All of this reminds me of a prayer in the Farmers Almanac (with a slight modification):
Fishermen are a different group. Nothing bothers them. They can stand on a pier or sit in a boat all day. The preference is to catch a fish or two but hey, just fishing makes time whittle away.
A Fisherman’s Prayer
God grant me a little more time
To pick up my rod, and cast my line.
Work and worry disappear
When I pick up my fishing gear.
With fishing cart in truck, I will go
Anywhere the fishing’s not too slow.
Work just doesn’t seem so fine
When I see what’s at the end of my fishing line.
When I am feeble, old and grey
Please don’t take my pole away.
When the Pearly Gates open wide
Please find this old fisherman, one good pier inside!

Catch a ling from a boat, as well as try and break dad's record.

Catch a 40+ king, or at least a bigger one than last year.
Catch more kings than last year.
Get in on more days when the big spanish are going nuts.
Catch a cobia so I can see what all the fuss is about.

Nice poem. There is no polite "applause" icon, so you get the next closest thing. :headbang:

What is your fishing related goal that you would like to accomplish in 2012?
Mine is a real tough one...I'd like to set the IGFA 2lb line record for King Mackeral :headbang:
Other than that I'd like to catch a speck in 7-8lb range

I am certainly an advocate of UL goals. That is an admirable one as well.
:headbang:
The Speck will come. Get with me in March or November and we'll make it happen.
